Please help to download MaxIMML exporter

Hi, from where I can download the MaxIMML exporter. Can anyone please help me on this.

Hi Ben,
Until recently MaxIMML was only available to enterprise customers.
The decision has been made to make this version of MaxIMML available to the public, and it can be downloaded from the MaxIMML page of the wiki:
http://www.vastpark.org/wiki/vp/MaxIMML

Hi Jeremy,
I installed the MAX IMML plugin and I could access that within 3dsmax. I created some basic premitives (Box, cone etc) and saved it as IMML. But, when I opened the IMML file it's not showing any of the primitives which I have made in 3dsmax. Please see the code below.
<IMML Name="Basic Primitives" GlobalIllumination="#000000" xmlns="http://schemas.vastpark.com/2007/imml/">
</IMML>
Kindly guide me on this.

Hi Ben,
The MaxIMML exporter only exports objects which are selected, and of a supported type. Therefore you will need to select the prims before pressing the "CREATE IMML" button.
Let me know if you still encounter problems.

Hi Ben,
Sounds like you may have uncovered a bug! Unfortunately I've been unable to replicate it on my end. If possible, to help me track down what the issue could be, could you please outline:
- What version of Max you are using.
- What objects you're attempting to export.
- What your settings are in the exporter dialog box.
This should help me track down and resolve the problem.

Hi Jeremy,
1. I am using 3dsmax 2009.
2. Created box, cone and a free cam, after that selected all the objects including camera.
3. Please see the attached image for Max IMML panel settings.
IMML code which I got is as follows.
<IMML Name="Test" Camera="Camera01" GlobalIllumination="#000000" xmlns="http://schemas.vastpark.com/2007/imml/">
<Camera Name="Camera01" Enabled="False" FOV="45.0" ChaseDamping="60" ChaseStiffness="100" ChaseMass="5" Projection="Perspective" Rotation="0.523599,0.785398,0.0" Position="-153.093,125.0,-153.093"/>

Hi Ben,
Thanks, the screenshot helped to identify the problem.
MaxIMML does not support standard 3ds Max primitives, as it uses its own VastPark primitives which include the properties available in the Creator for primitive elements.
The VastPark Primitives can be found under Geometry - VastPark within the Create Command Panel.
Portals are also available as a helper object, which can be found under Helpers - VastPark within the Create Command Panel.

Hi Jeremy,
Its working now and it's a new information for me.
Ok, so it means I can't export Polygon models from 3dsmax to IMML using this plugin. I can only convert the default VastPark primitives. Am I right?

That's correct. A new version of MaxIMML is under development, which supports the export of models and also preserves the hierarchy. However I'm afraid I don't have an ETA on its release at this point in time.

Hi Guys,
I've installed the latest version of the IMML plugin for 3DMax, then read this topic.
Has there been an update to the plugin since this post, allowing for all scene elements to be transfered via IMML?
This would certainly remove one extra element of the workflow, if the whole scene could be exported this way.

This plugin is under development, with more resources being devoted to it in the very near future. Currently the earliest release date would be towards the end of the calendar year.
If you're interested, I can get in touch with you once a closed beta becomes available should you wish to be involved in some of the final testing stages?

Thank you, I would like to be involved in anything that reduces the workflow.
Exporting a whole scene straight into the scene manager is something I used to do previously with another platform (which is no longer developed), so I miss the ease in which it is done.
I, like many others I'm sure, would be interested to know what is on the list/roadmap for inclusion with the imml export.
