In our old website the only way to ask for a new feature was through the forum. Today, we're using Redmine a great community project management software. It enables you to request new features by clicking on "New Issue" and choosing to create a User story.

A user story is where you provide the use case for the new feature. Rather than working out the technical details on how to build it the main task is to outline what it is you think the platform needs and provide one or more use cases for how this new feature would make a difference for developers and users using the platform. Others are encouraged to update this issue with their own comments and relate this request to other requests of a similar nature.
