If you have not yet opened the VastPark Publisher, you can find it inside or Start > Programs > VastPark > VastPark Publisher.
Setup¶
Login¶
When you start the Publisher for the first time you will be asked to log in with your VastID.
If you click remember me you will skip this screen the next time you launch the Publisher.
Group Select¶
In order to be able to publish content you need to be a member of a Publishing Group.
If you are already a member of a publishing group you can select the group from the drop down menu and click "OK"
Publishing Window¶
Whether you are publishing a new item or updating an existing one the Publishing Window has six different tabs.
Item¶
The Item tab is used for filling out key information about the content item you are publishing.
- Name: This is where you type in a name for your content item.
- URI: Fill out this field if you want to link your content item to a real world item.
- Audience Tags: Tags used for content items in relation to its intended audience.
- Content Tags: Tags used for searching content items.
- Description: Fill out this field with a detailed description of your content item.
Asset¶
The Asset Tab is used for filling out information about the author of the content item.
- Author: Used for if you would like to associate your content item with the author.
- Author Email: Used for if you would like to associate your content item with the author email.
- Author URI: Used for if you would like to associate your content item with an author web page.
- Culture: The authors cultural background.
- License Type: The type of license associated with the content item. Select the type from the drop down menu.
- License: Fill out the license details in this field.
Animations¶
When you are publishing a model that contains animation data or bones then you will need to use this tab.
If you are wanting to publish an avatar then you should have a look at the Creating Custom Avatars Page.
So if your model does contain animation data or bones you want to tick the checkbox.
You only want to fill out the following fields if your model contains animation data within its file.
Start Frame: The Starting Frame of the contained animation
End Frame: The End Frame of the contained animation
Animation Name: The name you want to reference the animation with in the IMML file.
Note: You can have multiple animations within a model, you just need to specify start and end frames for each animation.
Texture Maps¶
Additional texture maps can be added to models through the Publisher. VastPark supports Normal, Bump, Detail, Alpha, Emmisive, Light and Specular Maps.
To add a particular texture map to your model click on the button to the corresponding texture map slot and browser for the file.
Advanced¶
The Advanced Tab displays all the information you've entered and makes up the Metaforik Item you are about to publish.
Note: Only users with an advanced understanding of Metaforik should use this tab.
Preview¶
The Preview Tab gives you a visual representation of what the item will look like in world.
