CityEngine to Collada¶

What is CityEngine?¶

The CityEngine software (more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CityEngine), which is now owned by ESRI, provides professional users in entertainment, architecture, urban planning and general 3D content creation with a unique early design and modeling solution for the efficient visualization of 3D urban environments.

Converting CityEngine Models¶

If you are working in CityEngine and want to bring your models inworld, you will need to export them to Collada.
CityEngine supports exporting to Collada natively.

To export out models created in cityEngine, simply select your models then go to File > Export
Select Export models of selected shapes (all models are generated) and click on the next button, like shown in the diagram below.

Select collada 1.4.1 as the format and click next.

Finally, specify the file name and location. Select the setting as shown in the diagram below than click finish.
