Enterprise SDK¶
The Enterprise SDK is a software developer kit containing the full VastPark software:
- VastWorlds platform including a WorldServer user license
- VastSocial platform including our Community of Practice software
- VastServices platform
And features additional tools including:
- ColladaToIMML
- The web interface for OpenAvatar (when available)
- Enterprise templates and plugins
The entire source code and graphics is available in the full SDK license and supports redistribution to suit your requirements.
The Enterprise licensed version is designed for commercial developers, partners and clients wishing to use VastPark within Enterprise, Government and Military environments. It offers a software license enabling you to inspect the source code and modify it and redistribute your modifications free of hidden royalties or open source restraints.
The Enterprise SDK is NOT needed by developers who are using the VastWorlds platform for games and non-Enterprise purposes:¶
The VastWorlds platform is the only part of the Enterprise SDK that is publicly available to non-Enterprise developers. If this is enough for your needs, then you probably don't want or need an Enterprise SDK license unless you want access to all Enterprise plugins.
Specifically, you don't need an Enterprise license if you're creating games with the VastPark platform, even if you're selling the software in shops though you may need it if you're using 3rd party tools with the platform. It is not needed by non-commercial developers, Indie developers, small businesses or small deployments under the Free Enterprise Site limit inside any organization.
So what is the alternative to the Enterprise SDK? The alternative is our freely available virtual worlds developer kit. Also for advanced open source developers, you can use our open source components to create your own open source software.
We want to use some of the components within the Enterprise SDK that are not publicly available for free¶
The Enterprise SDK is provided to partners on a case-by-case basis. Contact us about purchasing Enterprise SDK licenses and talk to us about how you want to redistribute your work within your organization or as a product for sale to other organizations.
When does an organization have to get an Enterprise site license?¶
You must obtain an Enterprise site license for your users if you are an Enterprise, Government and Military organization wishing to run virtual worlds where one or more of your site deployments is above the Free Enterprise Site limit per site.
