Install the WorldServer (Developer Edition)¶
This also covers setting up and hosting your first virtual world.
Overview¶
The WorldServer supports running one or more virtual worlds simultaneously. The number of worlds is only dependent on the overall traffic to the server. If you have some high traffic worlds, they may deserve dedicated servers if you are not using cloud infrastructure. We generally recommend dedicated physical or virtual machines.

Setting up your first world¶
- Download a tutorial file similar to the My Park used in the video
- Add the world folder (unzipped) into the folder your server points to for worlds
- Run the server. If the server is already running when you add the world, you should see it has been found and is now running. If the world doesn't start to run within 10 seconds, there is a problem. Please provide details in the forum.
Enterprise deployment¶
Even with an Enterprise deployment, the first thing to get working is the Developer Edition. This is because it is quick to set up with minimal requirements and enables you to test that the required port settings have been configured correctly and there are no other conflicts inside your network. Once this is working reliably, then moving on to the Lite and then Enterprise versions is much easier.
Licensing¶
The Software comes unlicensed and allows for a limited number of concurrent users. View more information on licensing.
